Each day I awake and find myself surrounded by the beauty of the Finger Lakes region. Flowing hills of vineyards and cultivated lands rich with a variety of wheat and grains. Sprawling apple and peach orchards dotting the hillsides and miles of tilled fields for a summer vegetable harvest with chickens, sheep, cows and goats roaming in the nearby pastures. Horse drawn buggies clop down the country roads and farming tractors hug the shoulder. In the midst of all this is the village of Penn Yan, a lively brick and mortar downtown setting where locals come together and the tourists flock. It is a center filled with locally owned boutiques and independently owned restaurants serving local fare and locally crafted libations. Living in Penn Yan is similar to living in a picturesque hard covered book. On every page there is an adventure with a story.
